Vietnam cultural tourism targets US$32.5 billion annual revenue by 2030

the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved the national branding plan on cultural tourism.

Revenue of Vietnam’s cultural tourism is expected to make up 25% of the US$130 billion annual turnover of the whole industry by 2030, according to the latest national branding plan approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The national branding plan on culture tourism materializes the strategy on the development of Vietnam’s cultural industries until 2020 with a vision until 2030, and the Vietnam tourism development strategy through promoting the national cultural identity, contributing to enhancing the value and economic efficiency, as well as competitiveness of the Vietnamese tourism industry.


At the same time, the plan also aims to position Vietnam's cultural tourism brand by focusing on heritage, culinary value, thereby forming a system of high-quality and special tourism destinations and products.


To achieve the goal, the tourism industry plans to build a brand identity for the Vietnamese cultural tourism based on heritage and cuisine, organize communication activities for cultural tourism brands, in addition to the promotion of cultural tourism brand on national and international television channels, at travel fairs and Vietnam culture week.


In addition, tourism management agencies and local authorities will support the creation of gastronomic and heritage tourism products through the research, collection, restoration and development of heritage and cultural values, implementing policies to promote heritage and gastronomic tourism such as planning of the development of tourist destinations associated with heritage and cuisine.


Vietnam targeted annual cultural tourism revenue of $8 billion by 2030 according to the national branding plan drawn up by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.
