Viet Solutions contest encourages application of Vietnam digital technology

The launch of the contest is expected to boost the implementation of the national digital transformation strategy.

At the launch of a contest on July 8 to seek solutions for national digital transformation, called Viet Solutions 2020, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung called for broad participation of individuals and businesses around the globe in the contest.

The event is jointly held by the Ministry of Information and Communications and military-run telecommunication and technology group Viettel .

The competition aims at helping Vietnam take the lead in digital transformation, thereby,  change the digital ranking and become a prosperous country. 

Viet Solutions 2020 provides a platform for state management agencies, large enterprises and organizations to find innovative solutions for social problems and contribute to the implementation of the national digital transformation strategy.

At the launching ceremony, Minister Hung said that Vietnam’s digital transformation is the incubation for Vietnamese digital technology businesses to be created and grow. The businesses would take the products and solutions developed during the country's digital transformation process abroad and elevate Vietnam's status.

The competition is to find solutions not only to Vietnamese but also global issues. This contest strongly encourages the application of new technology, especially digital technology, the minister said.

The contest’s areas include mobile application products/solutions such as game content, music, video, news, multimedia and utilities; social network and over-the-top services; technological solutions/applications in the fields of health, education, finance, banking, agriculture, transportation and logistics, energy, environmental resources and industrial production.

Stating that digital transformation is an enterprise of the entire nation and people, and a long way to go, Minister Hung urged all organizations, the business community, and individuals operating in the field of digital technology to get involved in the process.
