Saxophone legend Kenny G to perform in Hanoi

Vietnamese audiences in Hanoi will have the opportunity to hear legendary saxophonist Kenny G perform Going Home, My Heart Will Go On, Forever In Love and other of his greatest hits.

Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G will hold a special night of music called Kenny G live in Vietnam at the My Dinh National Convention Center on November 14 at 8 pm.

He is also the inaugural artist of the Good Morning Vietnam event series, an international music project organized by Nhan Dan newspaper and IB Group Vietnam to bring the world's best music to Vietnam and raise funds for charity.

World legend Kenny G will have a one-night concert in Hanoi.

Accordingly, all proceeds from ticket sales for the program will be used for charitable purposes by Nhan Dan Newspaper.

On October 9, Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party's Central Committee and editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, said he had many personal experiences with Kenny G's music.

"I bought my first Kenny G record - Breathless - in 1992, when I graduated from college. After that, Kenny G's music came to me by chance in many public and private places. For this reason, Kenny G's music is very familiar to me," said Minh.

Minh said that in recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized many art programs and carried out charity activities for the families of war invalids and martyrs, as well as for needy students and teachers in remote areas.

"Continuing the spirit of community service that has become a tradition of Nhan Dan Newspaper, we want to expand the scale and bring a fresh breeze by inviting international artists to Vietnam and help promote the country's image to the world," Minh said.

Nguyen Thuy Duong, President of IB Group Vietnam, said inviting saxophonist Kenny G to perform in Vietnam is difficult because international artists have tight schedules.

The organizer has to meet many strict requirements in terms of sound, lighting and auxiliary equipment systems, in addition to sending a number of folk music works to Kenny G to choose and then transform into smooth jazz to perform in the show.

According to Duong, the program "Kenny G Live in Vietnam" will last more than 2 hours in accordance with the performance format of this artist on major stages around the world. Accordingly, Kenny G and the band will perform live all the most famous songs over the years, such as Going Home, My Heart will Go On, Forever in Love.

Kenny G is an American saxophonist whose hundreds of instrumental songs in the genres of Smooth Jazz, R&B, Pop and Latin have touched the hearts of millions of music lovers around the world for more than 30 years. He is among the best-selling artists of all time, with over 75 million records sold worldwide.

In 1994, Kenny G won a Grammy Award for the song "Forever in Love" and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the artist who played the longest note on the saxophone at 45 minutes and 47 seconds. In 1997, he was officially honored with a star named after him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

For Vietnamese audiences, Kenny G is a very familiar name, and his music has been deeply ingrained in their subconscious since the 90s.
