Hanoi: Walkway around Truc Bach Lake ‘dresses up new clothes’

Once a spontaneous landfill and a gathering place for social evils, the walkway around Truc Bach Lake became tidy and beautiful thanks to a social-environmental clean-up campaign.

An urban embellishment project has been implemented on the walkway along Truc Bach Lake (Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) in order to improve the living environment for local residents.

The project is carried out on a 200m-long walking path that separates Truc Bach Flower Garden and 28 households in the area.
The road is decorated with colorful lanterns and large posters with the message of protecting the environment and repelling plastic waste.

Flower beds are also arranged around the lake, creating a romantic landscape for the lakeside path during the daytime.

The walkway becomes fancier at night, under the gorgeous lights of hundreds of high-hanging lanterns.

These Hanoi-themed mural paintings are expected to improve local residents' awareness about the environmental protection.
This is the first time local residents have had a chance to enjoy such a beautiful and clean walkway around Truc Bach Lake.
