Hanoi among most searched summer destinations in 2023

Summer is considered a good time to travel, and Vietnamese tourists are keen on visiting big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Hanoi is one of the top 10 tourist destinations for the 2023 Summer holiday season, says online travel agent Booking.com.

During the Summer, Vietnamese people prefer to visit big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and more tranquil towns like Da Lat/Lam Dong and Hoi An/Quang Nam.

According to Booking.com's 2023 tourism forecast, 74% of Vietnamese tourists believe that travel is always a worthwhile experience, and more than three-quarters of them (78%) said that summer is the best time to travel.

Although tourists are concerned about the global economy, they have no intention of abandoning their travel plans. Instead, the site noted that they are considering allocating their travel budgets more carefully.

Data from Booking.com shows that beautiful beaches are still the top choice for Vietnamese tourists in the summer. Danang continues to top the list as the most searched domestic destination for Vietnamese tourists in the summer of 2023, followed by Nha Trang (the southern province of Khanh Hoa) and Phu Quoc (the southern province of Kien Giang).

The remaining destinations on the list are Ha Long (the northern province of Quang Ninh), Hue (the central province of Thua Thien-Hue) and Vung Tau (the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau).

In March, British travel magazine Expedia also named Vietnam as one of the top five international destinations to visit this summer.
