Exhibition on OCOP goods in Hanoi's outlying district

The event in Ba Vi District is expected to provide consumers with access to distinctive products from traditional craft villages in the locality and other places.

A fair to showcase and promote rural industrial products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) goods from Ba Vi District and other areas in the city is running until December 16 at Quang Oai Stadium in Tay Dang Town, Ba Vi District.

The fair has 120 booths and attracts local rural industrial workshops, exporters, industrial associations and traditional craft villages from the area.

According to Hoang Minh Lam, Director of the Hanoi Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting under the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the fair aims to help businesses and producers to market their products related to tourism and preservation of local cultural heritage.

The event is expected to strengthen links between producers, distributors, and consumers.

Rural industrial products from the district have played a crucial role in building new rural areas and providing stable income for residents, contributing to the reduction of poverty and the local socio-economic development.

The event in Ba Vi is in line with Hanoi's plans to support 600-650 businesses participating in trade fairs and assist 10-15 facilities in adopting modern production, according to the city's industrial promotion plan in 2024. The city also aims to enhance the management skills of 2,000-2,500 leaders and managers in the rural industrial sector.

The city expects to organize 60 major events, including ten international fairs for an annual growth of 6%-8% in handicraft exports and plans to create 650-800 new designs for domestic and international markets.
