Bad debt ratio in Hanoi banking sector stays at 1.91%

Challenges of the Vietnamese banking sector include issues of asset quality, weak capitalization and regulatory constraints that inhibit further investment in the sector. In addition, Vietnamese banks have higher overheads and provision more for non-performing loans.
A banking expert said the central bank needs long-term and effective solutions to deal with bad debt after the pandemic.
Vietnam gives priority to a stable and sustainable trade-economic relation with the US, and will continue to work towards a harmonious and fair-trade relations under the bilateral action plan, stated the country’s central bank.
