3D mapping night tour pilot at Hanoi Temple of Literature
The night tour of the Temple of Literature will be the fourth in Hanoi after those of Hoa Lo Prison Relics, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and Vietnam Literature Museum.
Hanoi's Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) has been transformed with lighting and 3D mapping technology, giving it a glowing and magical look that is the attraction of the "Essence of Confucianism" night tour, about to be offered to tourists.
The night tour with the participation of many travel agencies, revealing a space filled with light, sound, and a sense of pride, was piloted on the evening of October 22 by the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam.
"The project is expected to officially welcome visitors at the end of October to promote the unique religious value of the Temple of Literature, attract more tourists to the monument at night, and enrich Hanoi's tourism offer," said Le Xuan Kieu, director of the center.
He stressed that the night tour also aims to pay tribute to learning, and hoped that more night activities would be held at the relic.
"The tour will give visitors a new perspective that cannot be experienced when visiting the monument during the day. The tour uses modern 3D mapping technology that displays vivid images to tell stories about Confucianism and Vietnam's history and sages," Kieu added.

In addition, the Khue Van Cac (Literature Constellation Pavilion) area will become a venue for traditional music performances. In particular, Vuon bia Tien si (Garden of Doctoral Stelae) will host a 3D mapping presentation on "The Essence of Confucianism" to help tourists learn the basic principles of this philosophy.

At the launch of the trial, Phung Quang Thang, vice chairman of the Vietnam Travel Association, praised the new form of expression. "The new technologies in the night tour will attract visitors. More guidance should be given to tourists to help them better understand the stories being told. Hanoi is a pioneer in developing night tours to diversify what visitors can do in the capital at night," Thang said.
He added that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently approved a project to develop various models of night tour products to bring great experiences to visitors and create a unique appeal of the capital's tourism.

Another attractive night tour offered in Hanoi's Old Quarter
The Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, will launch a night tour called "Hanoi Night - Touching Emotions" on October 28 and 29 to contribute to the development of the night economy, according to Nguyen Hong Minh, deputy director of the department.
"On the morning of October 28 and 29, there will be an activity introducing the art of Hang Trong painting; performances of ca tru, cheo, chau van, tuong; promotion of artistic products made of rattan, bamboo, and weaving from handicraft villages," Minh said.
He stressed that the highlight of the event will be the opening of the "Hanoi Night - Touching Emotions" light art experience space at 7:30 pm on October 28 at the Cultural and Arts Center, No. 22 Hang Buom Street. "The public will enjoy traditional music art programs, watch product introduction clips, visit the tea party art space, and experience light shows combined with music," the official said.

Recently, Hanoi's tourism industry has cooperated with major tourist sites in Hanoi to develop many new offers, with night tours receiving special attention.
Starting January 4, tourists can enjoy a 120-minute night tour of Hanoi's Thang Long Imperial Citadel, which promises enticing cultural, culinary and architectural experiences. Launched by the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the new journey around the capital's royal space starts every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm or according to the pre-booked tour schedule. As one of the ten special national heritage sites, the Citadel was inscribed on the World Heritage List by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2010.
Since May 2022, more tourists have visited Hanoi’s Hoa Lo Prison Relics, especially young people who are very interested in experiencing the night tour held at the site to go back in time. A night tour of the Hoa Lo Prison Museum provides a glimpse into its horrific history and highlights the resilience and fighting spirit of Vietnamese revolutionary fighters. The tour takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
